My first good knife was a buck 425 minibuck that I carried every single day for maybe 5 yrs and it's a great little knife ( even though I think the 283 nano bantam is better and costs less )
My actual first knife was a pos dollar store multi function knife I got when I was 7 that fell apart on me, but at least it was enough of a knife for me to learn how to use one.

MY first folding knife was an Ulster BSA knife, my first fixed blade was a Schrade Old Timer Sharpfinger

First knife I ever bought was a CRKT Point Guard, back when they used decent steel. It was my only knife for about 4 years.

First knife that I paid for was a green Bucklite folder with a camo sheath. I carried it for almost 20 years. Finally retired it but it served me well. Cleaned a lot of redhorse suckers on river gigging trips.

My first knife was a small folder shaped like a bowling pin that I received from an uncle when I was around 9. Naturally I lost it. I did get a lot of use out of it and learned how not to tell my mother when I got nicked using it.

Case Large Texas Toothpick. It was love at first sight. I was probably 9 or 10. I had 3 or 4 different Toothpicks before I graduated to the three blade Stockman type. I just recently sold my last one. It was stag handled with a raindrop Damascus blade.

Schrade Old Timer - gift from dad aged 8

Gerber EZ-Out - 1st knife I bought

My first knife was a Wenger swiss army classic with a brown handle that my dad gave me when I was probably 6 or 7. Still have it.

Don't remember a brand name, but it was a cheap, green scaled slipjoint that I bought new at a garage sale. I was checking it out while I was riding my bicycle home, and sliced my finger pretty good. I was about 7 or so. I don't even remember seeing the knife again.

First knife was a very small sub-peanut sized Imperial slip joint (probably 1.5" closed) I carried in the 2nd grade. Moved up to a larger, Imperial a year or so later and purchased a Case Barlow when I was around 10 years old from my allowance. Used that particular knife for years. Dad never gave any of the kids knives or firearms. We had to buy our own.

Mine was a tiny souvenir folder from Mount Rushmore. Second was the five dollar survival "Rambo" style knife with the screw on compass pomel.
