First knife?

I got two at the same time. A Victorinox Classic and a Schrade Scrimshaw liner lock.

Haven't the foggiest what became of the SAK. My dad has the Schrade I think.

I cannot specifically recall any of the knives I might have had as a kid. It just wasn't important to me. I didn't hunt or fish and never carried a knife. At some point I had a steel-handled camp knife, probably a Camillus demo knife. There was a period in junior high school when I wanted a switchblade after seeing West Side Story. Couldn't afford one, but I did get a gravity knife and carried it for a few months. After that I did not carry a knife at all, through high school and college.

In 1970 I was backpacking around Europe, and realized a knife might be a handy thing to have. I bought a folding knife in Amsterdam. I still have it.

As a kid, I remember going into the local hardware store that sold Case knives. Case was THE brand to buy. One of the things I remember fondly about the Case knives was the smell of oil when you first opened the box at the store. That always seemed to indicate quality to me as knives need lubrication.

Some unknown slipjoint with MOP handles at 10 years old. Was my grandfathers I think. Unfortunately I was just a 10 year old kid and it died quite fast.

My first knife was a Buck 110!!!! The most classic of classics! :) I actually found it on the forest floor at a young age and just decided to keep it. It was in great condition and everything! That knife not only served as a valuable companion for years to come, but it also opened up the world of knife collection for me! I still have much original Buck 110 today and have bought a few more since, just because I love the knife that much.

By pure luck I stumble upon this for my first one by Sip Gil, Hibben Knives, I believe it's the first version of the claw https://imgur.com/a/euCmy still does the round once in a while.

This was my first knife. I bought it almost 40 years ago.. I saw it in a store and I fell in love with it... When I finally got it I woke up at night, open my drawer and play with it.. and now 40 years later is still with me.. I named it the Grandpa...

I don't remember my very first knife. But my first true EDC knife was a Kershaw Blackout. Over the course of several years I'd lost it a few times and always immediately replaced it with the same knife. Then I stumbled on an EDC type forum a couple years ago and I wound up with a few Benchmades and Spydercos.

First knife was a random swiss army knife type of build from a local fair. Naturally I lost that and years later (somewhat recently) was gifted a SOG trident. Moved up in the knife world at the beginning of the summer after purchasing a Spyderco Techno, which is looking like my perfect size, weight, and materials. Waiting on my doorstep is a Silent soldier, very excited to see how that performs.
