First Look - Kershaw Piston

Really dig this knife. Glad to see it was switched to G10 scales for production. Great material IMO. I also like the clean look of no thumb studs, it accentuates that beautiful grind. The clip is a win...none of that wizard of oz stuff. For those complaining about the sheen its an easy fix to coat it. This a fantastic looking knife. Clean lines. A pragmatists knife indeed. Kershaw you hit a home run with the Piston. Looking forward to owning one. Keep up the solid work.

Are you guys planning on putting out colored first runs like with the Breakout and Blur awhile back? I'd love to get a purple or red one.

I'm sold and I'm not a folder guy. That is just one clean looking knife. Love at first sight, I see one in my future.

Dang thats an awesome looking knife. But why couldnt they use VG10 like they did on the Lahar?:(

I know firm dates aren't here yet, but can we know if the Cryo and Piston releases will be somewhat staggered? I'd love to hear that they'll be at least several weeks apart or more (for my bank account's sake).

What is the official status of this knife?

I keep seeing it listed different places online in various stages (coming soon, sold out and Cabela's even says they have them in stock, but the model they have shown looks different than the one on the kershaw website (no thumb studs and different texturing)).

I really want this knife, but I am hesitant to order from Cabela's since the information they are putting out seems to be wrong.

Can someone with more knowledge please help me out some? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

The picture Cabela's has listed is correct. I believe the Kershaw website is using a placeholder or mockup photo. There aren't any thumbstuds on the final Piston design, and it's got a 4-way pocket clip (which Kershaw's picture is missing). That odd sunburst texturing in the G-10 is also missing from their photo as well.

Oh, thanks for the clarification. I just assumed the manufacturers website would be the correct one. So does that mean the have it in stock do you think? I find it strange that they would, and no one else would. Thanks.

You might consider asking the question on the Kershaw subform. That seems to be a good place for getting up-to-date info on their knives.

I'm pretty sure Cabela's does not have them in stock. Probably an error on their part. It's more than likely that Thomas W. from Kershaw (who started this thread, and has been keeping us updated) will post up that it's available as soon as it becomes just that. At least, I hope he does!

Good job on the pocket clip. I would like to see more simple clips from Kershaw. I'm usually so put off by the ridiculousness of most of the other model's pocket clips.
