First Look- Kershaw Strobe (by MATT DISKIN!!!)

Yes, I think this looks a lot better than the original design before.

Looks like a smaller folding version of the Diskin fixed blade hunter.

The pricepoint is good, so I will get one.

I like Diskin designs and look forward to this knife despite the stupid jimping on the handle.
In that regard I would prefer the previous version (that never was produced)
VERY positive is that it isn't assisted, that way knifenuts in Europe could finally buy a kershaw.

One of my favorite knives at any price point that I purchased in the past 1.5 years is the Diskin Hunter. This includes knives that I own that I paid 10X more for. I love the tradition blade, handle ergonomics, simplicity in design, and US made. All for $45. The above designs do not appeal to my taste, but to each there own. If they send manufacture if the Diskin line overseas, I will not be a buyer at any price point.

I was really in love for the design of the Diskin Hunter, but the final product was very different from the prototype.
All what made it special was thrown away

I'm still a fan of that blade shape, and am looking forward to the KVT. I think Kershaw made a really wise choice putting KVT on a lot of the budget blades.

Hey Neo, I took a look at these pics and can notice some differences, but could you do me a favor and elaborate a bit? I'm curious to know the big differences, since I don't know too much about the Diskin designs. Thanks.

Some differences?
It's a complete different bladeshape.
The full height grind (like featured in the strobe) along with a small handle handle is Diskins' signature.
Now it features a plain hollow saber grind like seen on hundreds of cheap junk knives.

If I read it right it's a framelock, so the K-Texture™ handle overlays move along with the lockbar?

Nice looking knife; I'm glad Matt has a promising collaboration. I still have the Fire on my watch list.

I agree that I like a flat grind better, but after repeated sharpening and blade thinning, the hollow grind will become flattened out anyway. I had never seen the prototype pictures. Thanks for digging them out.

Yep. That was the one I was alluding to, the one that never saw production. It was Kershaw's supposed version of Diskin's "Coronado".

I really wish I could see a review of this one and see how it handles.

Anybody who's got this knife, don't be afraid for "show and tell" ;)

What part of never produced didn't you get. Even if a prototype was produced (no one knows), it's never been down.

Looks good, Kershaw is doing great with bringing KVT to this price level, definitely see custom scales for this.
