Being introduced at SHOT Show 2014 the New Kershaw Camber,

Many people love the Kershaw Blur. It doesn’t take long to look up the staggering amount of different variations, and see that for the past 12 years it has been a perennial fan favorite. There has really only been one gripe, “Where’s the flipper?”

For those who have posed this question, here is your answer! The all new 2014 Kershaw Camber!

The Camber takes all the great things about a Blur and puts them into a stunning new package. The handles have less trac-tec for easier pocket-ability yet retains enough for grip in harsh conditions. The aluminum handles are also nicely sculpted to fit your hand just right. A reversible pocket clip ensures you can pocket it whether a righty or southpaw. The Camber also shows off the new chiseled Kershaw logo proudly! This new slice of greatness will be sporting tried and tested S30v blade steel to help you complete the most unforgiving of tasks. Lastly the blade is given a proper stonewash that is not only for form but function alike.

Kershaw Camber Model # 1678:

Speedsafe opener, Opens with flipper, Secure liner lock, Reversible deep carry pocket clip (left, right). 6061-T6 anodized aluminum handles, with Trac-tec inserts for extra grip, 3 inch blade and closed length is 4.2 inches. MSRP $139.95, so street price will be lower!

DETAILS MAY CHANGE AND THERE IS NO GIVEN RELEASE DATE AT THIS TIME.

Enjoy!

Now there's the Kershaw I remember. Looks a bit BM 940-ish in the handle, I like it.

I think this platform can really be something special. I can see all kinds of colors and L.E.'s!

Never missed a flipper on the Blur because it had such well-designed studs, but this looks really nice.

Very interesting. Will it be a full 2 years until this is on the market like the knives that they announced at the show 2 years ago that haven't been produced yet?

Is is able to be properly deassisted? Kershaw needs more assisted knives with detents, and this looks like it would be a good candidate.

What knife is that?

The Diskin folder is the first one to come to mind. I know the original production was cancelled, but last I heard it was announced to be released in the China line, so while it won't have the Sandvik blade it will still be well made and keep the same non-Speedsafe assist.

To me, it almost looks... 0888 ish. Almost like what the 0770 is to the 0777 except this is more of a size shrink than that. The way the blade and handle sweep is reminiscent to me of the 0888. From a functional/options perspective, it might be cool to have studs and a flipper, but from an aesthetic perspective, just the flipper is good. I like that it addresses the sometime criticism that the Blur doesn't do enough to protect the index finger from sliding forward. It's really a lovely evolution of the USA Kershaw line, a perfect next step.

Also... deassist? :D

There's always gotta be one...........

This is going to be a cool knife. Love how they put the trac-tec inserts in just the right location to where you'll be grabbing to pull it out of pocket. Not to keen on the tip up carry only but something I can live with. I see purples and blues and grays and reds and and and in this ones future. :)

Really... A canceled model... Kinda grasping at straws... I don't even think the prototype was shown to the public...

It wasn't, it got canned for... reasons. The retailers let us down by posting it when they weren't supposed to, end of story.
