First look, New Kershaw: Camber #1678

I just noticed: the catalog pic has a recurve while the proto doesn't. Does anyone know which is correct?

The proto would be the latest iteration, remember folks these are all subject to change (I.E. not final production, just first looks).

I love my S30V blur, but this thing fixes every problem I've ever had with it. My main issue was the thumbstuds - I have a tendency to flick a knife open and closed while I'm thinking or reading, and my Blur's thumbstuds were like miniature files when I first got it. I eventually de-assisted it, but it still felt a bit odd, because I open manual thumbstuds by flicking with my fingernail, and it just sort of dragged, all of which is solved by the flipper. It won't catch on my pants pocket as much, but there's still the trac-tec inserts where your fingers wrap around. It's got the same stonewashed S30V, but it looks like it might come without a recurve, which I slightly prefer. Slightly smaller, too - at 3 inches, it's 100% legal everywhere in Washington State (there are a couple of places that have a 3 inch limit).

...I MUST HAVE ONE.

I agree with pretty much everything about this post. I only hope pricing will be close to the S30V Blur, at least eventually. At $139, or even $100, probably, it would be above my range I am comfortable with spending. Maybe a blem... hmm...

Never missed a flipper on the Blur because it had such well-designed studs, but this looks really nice.

I second that. Those thumb ramps make the blur cake to deploy. I never wished it had a flipper either.

a proper 3.0" blade? USA?? S30V???
this is going on my wish list.

Hmm, I hope it will be de-assistable. If not it's off the table.

I pre-ordered... hope it doesn't get canceled! ...s30v, assisted, perfect for EDC and great price!

Yea no recurve...that contradiction in pics makes me weary :disgust:

If there is no recurve I'm in for sure!

Personally I like to see it with no recurve, tip down carry option, and thumb studs. I like the 3in blade length as that allows me to carry it almost everywhere though which is a very big perk. The handle looks like it may be comfy, I definitely want to handle one and see. I know I was quite impressed by the Blur when I handled it.

I said it once and I guess I need to repeat it. The proto, the actual physical piece is the latest iteration (no recurve). The catalog picture is just that, a rendering of which the knife was based. This happens all the time, the pictures everyone see online from the retailers are usually a hair off from what the actual piece looks like. They take the first picture they get and never change it. The Skyline would be a good example of this. It was flat ground in the catalog realeased pictures but actual pictures of the physical piece showed it was indeed hollow ground. So all you peeps that want this if it has no recurve now have no choice but to purchase it when they drop! :)

Man 2014 is going to be such a big year for KAI.

This piece will definitely do well.
