Looks sharp, how does it shave? Have you tried it out yet? Congrats to Maker.

that's very nice. i'd love to see some more of these with different handle material.

AWESOME !!!!!!!!!

I have been wanting to try one of these myself, any pointers ....

Great Job,
Bruce

yep creep up on the thinning of the bevel i did this on a 2 inch serrated wheel on my KMG
you have to run that grind way back
the first try i ground clean through with a a65 gator belt

Nice ! I really dig your green and burlap burl , awesome looking stuff.

thanks guys
the hardest part was grinding the hollow and then running it back to the spine this is just my 6th hollow ground blade the first razor blank didnt make it (#5) and they have all been done on the rubber top wheel on my flat platen kmg

need to get me a 8 or 10 inch wheel to play with some hollow grinding

This is one nice razor. Can't wait to see what Butch comes up with next....

Man, I'm jealous. I'd love to make a razor, but I don't have a small enough wheel to get the hollow. Very sweet, Butch!! Love everything about it!

a thin i didnt know about razors when i started this one some are just full flat ground but they are for heaver stubble.
the super thin ones are for lighter whiskers and "sing" when used

so far i dont think this one will sing but i know the first one (that i ground a hole in)would have :)

I've seen flat ground ones before, but I just don't like the look. You couldn't have chosen a better handle material for your first!

thanks guys

If you can show us a photo of the 2' wheel you grinded the blade on. I have a 2x1 wheel and was wanting to do one as well. I would love to see it. Thanks again for your post.

Awsome, but don't know if I'd shave with that, I'd be afraid of cutting my own throut!

so a KMG comes with 2 AL wheels one top and one bottom and its been said that alot of use can be made of swapping one of the wheels with a rubber wheel the stock size is 2 inch and i just swapped out the AL one for rubber

it gives you a real steep grind and then you run that grind back the blade leaving a long thin flat or semi flat
the grinding steps were flat ground wedge to about .025 edge then hollow and thin to how you want it

So, when you are grinding the blade, The wheel is a 2 inch by ?
I have a 2x8 2x10 2x14 and a 2x1.
