First Patch knife

Yea , I got to see these pics Great Job I like it. Afew days back I made up my first
Nessmuk style of knife and put a on deer anter for the handle that I found while out
cutting trees. The way you did yours looks really good.

OK, its time for everyone to point and laugh derisively. What's a patch knife?

Some googling suggests that it involves having antler or horn for the handle, but that doesn't explain the name to me.

I couldn't figure it out at all... I was expecting to see the W&SS patches put on a knife sheath or something.
 
I think it looks great.

A note about spongy bone. It will collect water, blood, etc, and grow bacteria like hell. Seal it, cut it out and replace with epoxy, or use a bolster if you're going to use the knife on food.

Good point Fid.... I sealed the antler with several coats of superglue and the epoxy helps keep the funky stuff out...
