Hi All,

Been online for 7 years and this is my first post to any forum.
Mostly because I'm so impressed by what goes on here; the cameraderie,
the knowledge, humor, caring, honor/integrity... I could go on but if you're here then I think you know what I'm saying.
Seriously good people here.

And I just got my very first 2 khuks 15" AK and 18" GS both by K.M.(Kumar?).

Two visits(lots to read) to the HI site and I knew life was not worth living till I had one!

Honorable mention here for Uncle Bill making that happen- an "offer a girl can't refuse". The gentlemanly sort...of course.
For anyone still in the gutter, I'm talking customer service of the highest caliber.

Next post:
Have to tell you all about my first 48hrs. of owning HI khuks.
It may make you smile, it may make you sad, or it may even be a bit of a warning. If I knew how to use smiley, there'd be a wink here.

For now I have to see if I'm posting or writing all this for nothing.

Shirley

Shirley,

Welcome. Do I get the feeling that you didn't read the 'Safety First' thread before unsheathing the little beasts?

Welcome to the Cantina Shirley, great choice on first khuks. What are you going to get next?

Welcome Shirley:

Rusty will be along by & by before too long and tell you about the origin of the cantina name from Star Wars.

If there is a better bunch of people on the forums, I haven't found them. Great place to ponder life and khukuri. Khukuris and THE FORUM can be quite addictive.:)

How lovely of you to join us.

And how wise of you to visit a lot before announcing your presence.

ANY of the forumites will be more than happy to assist you if you need information.

However, if you want it to be ACCURATE information, your best bets are Uncle Bill, Rusty, and Yvsa.

Nice choices on all the khuks you will ever need.;)

Enjoy.

I think I just posted a "Welcome to the Cantina" to a double tap!

There's another thread exactly like this one. :D

Good to see you got home safe, lcs37. ( He was there Saturday and Sunday. Also Tohatchi NM. Tochatchi came in Saturday PM, sat down and Bill looked at me and I looked at him and Bill asked me if I had any idea who he was. So Bill asked.

Hello Shirley, they are right that the Cantina handle for the forum came from my observation that the bar scene in the first Star Wars reminded me of the forum. As I told Uncle Bill yesterday, its the normal ones who sick out and you remember. The oddballs are just more of the same in a place already filled to the brim with more of oddballs.

Also, watch out for Tsimi ( Cherokee name for jim l. clifton ). Also referred to as the duck, aka quackipuss. :p He claims to be a saint, and tries to get you to join his fellowship by sending him a khuk at his cave in the Florida swamps. Just a word to the wise.

Anyway, welcome home, find a place between the wood stove and the crackerbarrel, and stay back a bit so you aren't in the line of fire for what gets slung around here. You might also want to get some chest high waders. Boots ain't nerarly high enough!

This is indeed a different place. Uncle Bill used to say " What does this have to do with kukuris? Everything. " Over the weekend he admitted it's about anything and everything but khuks. But it keeps going and growing anyway and Bill sells the khuks, so thus it goes.

PS: glad you made it home too, Josh.

Welcome Shirley:)

Be careful, we don't get many women folk round these parts;) :D

Just teazin, most of us are perfect gentleman---and then there's Tsimi:rolleyes:

Y'all need to quit picking on Saint Jim, it's a known fact he only goes after one legged, red headed, dancing girls, and sometimes alligators.

Welcome to the Cantina Shirley, I'm sure we'd like to hear your experiences about getting acquainted with khukuris. No need to be embarrassed, we've all got tales to tell. Heck, Bruise just got bit by a tomahawk (hopefully not too seriously, and hopefully he heals up okay).

He's damn lucky it was the kind with a blade and not fins on the back:eek: ;)

Welcome to the Cantina Shirley, or the Psycho Ward, whichever you prefer.
Sure hope you're not a one legged, red headed, dancing girl!!!!:)

I added a wink for you.:D
