First post, new Cold Steel

Hello,

I recently got into knives. My first two knives, I purchased two Smith and Wesson knife/seat belt cutter combos a while back. I recently learned they were trash and ordered two Cold Steels. They arrived in the mail today, an AD10 and 4 Max Scout. My whole collection, 2 Smith and Wesson, 1 Benchmade dagger, and the above Cold Steels. Im excited to be a part of this forum! Welcome to the forum!!! The Cold Steel AD10 is one GREAT knife. Absolute tank and super smooth for its size. Did you figure out how to easily close it with one hand yet without cutting your index finger? Neat trick that I noticed Lynn do years ago with his folders.

Thats so funny you ask. The first thing I did was slice open my middle finger on my right hand attempting to close it single handed for the first time. I now know the correct way.

Glad that you snapped-up a couple of Cold Steel blades. They are hard-use knives, and made-to-be-used. The 4 Max is a Demko/Thompson classic. Soon you'll be moving up to XL's in the product-line: e.g., Voyager, and 5 Max Scout. Cold Steel fits into so many niches: EDC, woodcraft, and even as a martial implement. Anyhow, welcome aboard!

Good rule of thumb i tell everyone, if a company is known for producing firearms, dont buy their knives.
