This is a picture of a new prototype that is en route to me for testing and evaluation. Blade steel is A2, blade length is just under 4" and handle length is approximately 4.5". Mike Stewart has commented the production run will have a .25" shorter handle.

This knife will be offered this year in a limited run. It is designed to be a general purpose knife for hiking and camping with less emphasiss on "bushcraft" or "survival" tasks. It could handle these tasks but it is not as thickly stocked as some other barkies like the Fox River. The blade is ground somewhere between .14 thick and .17 (I'll know soon) and convexed.

Should be a great slicer and I'll be certain to test it's abilities on an upcoming weekend trip specifically for T&E purposes.

More to come.

Love the look of that blade!!! I have never seen a thick B.R. not slice .215 Bravo or Gameskeeper are great knives. If this model gets out it looks like a great general purpose knife. I don't like short handles. My hands are 5"+ wide. Keep us posted.

Bark River.

Gotta love them huh?

Has there ever been a cooler knife company? So many different models. Great cutters. Easy to sharpen. Probably the best at handle countouring of any production blades:thumbup:

Hope they continue on for years and years:thumbup:

I like the no frills design, I may pick one up, only it looks too much like my only other one, the nebula. (in mini, sorta)

Nice.
When you get it, could you post a pic of the spine? I'd like to see how thin the slabs are.
Thanks.
