Here are some quick photos of the single blade 301, soon to come out in new catalog as the 302......

These are from the 50 each prototypes made to test the 'situation'.
The fit and finish is a hair better than standard 301s. The scales have been polished down so that the rivets are pretty low....I like. The yellow WAS my favorite scale but the Dymondwood is a single layer of wood, not a multi-layer, all you can see under the excellent polish are lengthwise light grey striations in gloss black....I likee.
Like I said these were some of the 50 each, don't know how many or if any are left......
Now if they would make a two blade Jackknife shape with a warcliff or thin sheepsfoot blade on the same end as the clip I would be in hog heaven........300

Thanks for the pics! I really like what I see, may need to drop that order after all if I'm not too late.

WOW! Those are fantastic looking! Thank you for the pics 300. I really like the wood ones, but the new logo looks really nice inset in the yellow as well!

Very nice 300 but how is the pull on these knive. Is it the usual nice easy Buck pull? These 50 year old cant take the nail busters that some other makers are using now. That yellow and black wood one sure are tempting me.

Very cool. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Buck Solo, which is essentially the same knife as the 302, just smaller.
A very good idea.

Pull of Delrin sawcut a tiny bit stouter than rest. Tested three newer 301s and the singles seem a wee bit stronger right as the blade breaks over the arc. But they weren't oiled or worked before test. Yellow, Cherry and Dymondwood smooth. The Sawcut feels like it has a tiny bit of drag, toward the end of the opening arc.....feels like individual situation...will work it a little bit. 300

... I like.

Me too! VERY nice. The important question: When can I buy one!?

We're birds of a feather, it seems. I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat.

Great pictures 300! They look so much better than the ones on the web site. They convinced me to go back and order one of each. Thanks for posting them!

I like the looks of them-great pics 300, may just have to get one, but which one?

Guys, Remember these are proto-types. I am not saying they will have any value above another but. Next year they will come with 302 stamped on the tang and I hope will be a little less costly but who knows. I got them for the collectors reasons and will not EDC.
I like the thin aspect but still would really like to add a thin sheepsfoot or warcliff and make it a jack knife. Next year if they are cheap enough I will buy two for the guts and send them to Leroy to make me a blade and create the first Buck JackKnife.

That said if collector folks have had their chance I would hope some of the EDC folks get them and use the heck out of them. If I don't shut-up and quit thinking about it I will buy another for EDC myself......I must not, I must not, I must not, I maybe won't.......

If anyone is standing with one foot on the dock and one foot in the boat, let me be your "FRIEND". Here is a couple of photos of my two favorites where I am attempting to show their 'slim-ness'. You can thank me later...........

Some of the striations are reflections from lights on the gloss polish job, wish that was the real look.....

I bought the yellow version. Wanted a yellow Buck since I didn't have one yet and since they aren't making a large toothpick this was the next best thing for me.

With the quality they put out now I just can't beat it for $40! And, if I get it and don't like the feel of it I'll put it in the safe till a collector wants it; win all around in my mind.

I ordered a yaller-handled one, too.

Hi,

My four 301/302's arrived today. These are really great and I hope they will do single blade versions of the 303, 305 and the 309. Medium blue would be a wonderful scale color as well.

Best - Joe
