I finally have some work to show
It's about the 6th knife but the first that I would call a knife. Known steel, heat threat, sharpened, sheath. The sheath is the first one. The knife and sheath obviously got some issues. Made many mistakes but learned a making them. I know some of the mistakes might have been corrected with more work but I wanted to finish it all for motivation purposes, tweak the design a little and make a couple more right away while this is still fresh in my memory.
Steel: 1095
Handle: cherry wood
OAL: 6.5"
Blade lenght: 3.5"

Thanks for looking.

It is a nice knife. Sheath is good too. I think if this is your early stuff I will look most forward to your future work.

Patrice,
I really like both the knife and sheath. Your mark is very cool.

Of course there is some small mistakes (each knife has some, even if sometimes only the maker can see them), but there's also some great aspects: the steel finish is very good, the design is interesting (different from what we usually see), proportional, sturdy, and well thought-out, the handle looks very comfortable, the knife seems to fit securely in the sheath. Your grinds are very nice.

Félicitation

Ya did good ! It has style an its a bit outta the norm. Very nice sir !

Thanks for the good words guys.

It is a hollow grind but it's hard to see because of the pics and because I need to work on keeping the grind lines crisper. Got many advices about this on here that I will put to use on the next one.

I will work on all those mistakes on the next few knives. I am confident I can improve some of them pretty fast, others will take years of experience.

As to the style I am glad you guys like it. There are surely some similar out there but I am proud that this was done starting from scratch. Hopefully it can but useful too while being a little different.

Forgot to add that this was the first knife that I got really sharp. Easily shaving hair sharp. I was so happy I shaved half my forearm. :D:D:D

Looks very nice, Patrice! I like the style a lot; looks curvy and swoopy, but still practical to me. The blade finish looks nice, and or a first sheath that's a tremendous job. Stitches are nice and even and straight. Does the knife sit deep enough in the sheath for a snug fit?

Paul, it sits deep enough so that I can hold the sheath by the tip and the knife won't fall. But you have a good eye, I would probably have the next one sit deeper for the sheath to get a little better grip while sacrificing a little on ease of removal.

Thanks for the good words.

Patrice

I like the proportion of the blade/handle. I have large hands, so if I wanted that kind of knife, it would have to be an inch or two longer to be held comfortably.

Patrice. that is an awesome knife. My 6th looked like crap. Keep up the great work, and can't wait to see sum more.

Looks good Patrice!

Once you shave all the hair of your arms, you have to switch to your legs - just don't wear shorts for a while people will look at you funny.......don't ask how I know this.

Patrice, I like both the knife and the sheath, I agree with tdl, your mark is cool.
As for hollow grinds. I still cant get it, all three I have tried ended up as much smaller flat grinds:(

Good job, keep it up. Greg
