First Sebenza

I should probably give the knife fondling a break over here? My thumb is really starting to killing me from all the opening and closing of the thing...

Yeah, you probably need to give your thumb a rest. We've all been there, your very first CRK is the one you can't put down.
I've learned that the tolerances are so tight, it took a while for my thumb to toughen up.
Now, after owning several CRK's, a new one is as smooth as the first one that I couldn't put down and opened/closed a bazillion times.
Congratulations on your first, she's quite stunning!!!!!

That she is. And my thumb already seems to have gotten used to the blade. Working at a hardware store handling lumber all day does have it's merits in the fairly tough fingers department. The knife already seems to be a lot smoother and easier to open than when it first came.

An interesting observation on my Sebenza... It's most certainly the smoothest opening and closing knife in my collection. Where as knifes like the Paramilitary 2 simply fall shut once you've gotten past the detent ball, with a Sebenza, it seems to be more a sort of consistent, even pressure. I've heard that they get a little more glassy smooth having broken in, but the fact is, this requires effort throughout. Really nice and different.
