First signs of winter.

Yeah, even here in the highest elevations East of the Mississippi, here in the Blue Ridge, it seems early to be having the extreme cold temps that we've been having lately. The snow arrived this a.m.
Itll prolly get down to zero or a little below tonight, if the wind is bad. Looks like we might be in for a rough winter.

We are currently getting hit with our first snow of the year here. Pushing 3” already with ice and wind. Spent half of the day with no power at the shop. Seems way to early for this crap. We are already under a level 1 snow emergency. Gotta love Ohio weather.

Ya. Same here, except power. Little thing like power. Where the info snow shovel? G10 handles and comp finish.

Here's a pic from the hood this morning~ driving on pure ice with a little snow to make it slippery :D

65 to 25 expected in North Alabama overnight, plus snow and ice ..which NEVER happens this early, round here

Edit to add how do y'all heat the shop?

The shop is heated solely from the sweat of Garth's sharpening brow! :)

Garth Reckner Garth Reckner I can Deal with the weather (Not really, LOL:mad:) I was without power for 5 hours yesterday BUT I caught this "CRUD" that seriously is the WORST. I went to the Dr office yesterday and I swear to goodness I have never seen so many "Sick" people in my LIFE (I am a old lady, LOL) it is the worst. I am currently at home (Had to call off work) for 2 days I hate that but I do not want ANYONE to get this. Winter came early and the Crud can GO AWAY.
XOXO

In New Orleans, it went from about 72 at 8pm last night to low 40's and mid-40's today to 20's tonight and 50's through the weekend...at least we will have one week of winter 2019 (Christmas Day will be Shorts and T-Shirts) and maybe a freeze or 2 in February March....then Summer starts again in April after most likely a cold and rainy Mardi Gras (when I head to Maine and the snow and snow mobiles and ice fishing and maybe skiing Sugar Loaf this year!!!). Get some Smokey Mountains in between Christmas and New Years, too...barn sleeping in a FEMA trailer with nothing but wood to keep us warm...breaks up the non-Caribbean Caribbean monotony for me anyways...

I remember a cold winter in about 2012-2014 where it was below zero for a good little bit in Asheville/Black Mountain...my ancient ceramic element gas wall heater went out because i kicked it while I was whiskey drunk because the thing would flame out after you thought it was lit and tuned just right...the landlord was a meaner drunk than I was and would not fix it, and so I had CVS space heaters heating up an old apartment with 15 Ft ceilings and wooden floors that were 100+ years old that you could see the old potato cellar through!! That did not sober me up although I have been since 2016.

Yup.? Hearing ya with the winter season. I'm in Erie PA and just south right before the snow belt here starts.... So very much like what you got

Sorry to hear it, but you'll get no sympathy from here in Colorado... ;) We had 2º overnight temps with highs only in the teens a MONTH ago already!!! We've had 5 snowstorms in the Denver area already this year, anywhere from 3" - 7" each. 40º-50º drops each time.

Man, that's typical fall weather for you folks sucking for air :D

That's just the thing, it's not really... O_o We set an all-time record low for October. Some snow and cold is common, but not that cold or that much snow.

Here in what's normally the mosquito-infested, subtropical swamp that is East Podunk (not its real name), the record low is 30° for November 12 and 32° for the 13th. It's supposed to get down to somewhere between 26° and 28° tonight (depending on whose forecast you use), so I guess it does seem to be unseasonably cool.
