First signs of winter.

It's 7-8 degrees in SW Ohio this morning, much too cold for this time of year.

I remember a cold winter in about 2012-2014 where it was below zero for a good little bit in Asheville/Black Mountain...my ancient ceramic element gas wall heater went out because i kicked it while I was whiskey drunk because the thing would flame out after you thought it was lit and tuned just right...the landlord was a meaner drunk than I was and would not fix it, and so I had CVS space heaters heating up an old apartment with 15 Ft ceilings and wooden floors that were 100+ years old that you could see the old potato cellar through!! That did not sober me up although I have been since 2016.

Oh my goodness! I remember that year pretty well.
Dude, that had to rough.
Very happy your sober!! One day at a time brother!

That's an outstanding photo sure to make anyone feel the actual chill in the air!

Hold up. Are you still living in a FEMA trailer?

HA! No my AA sponsor brought one up to TN to keep in his barn for sleeping while we clear land and he gets ready to build his home on the acreage...the "barn" is 40*60 with steel girders and all on a ridiculously thick slab that is tension tied to this crazy retaining wall and the earth behind it with huge concrete blocks (it is how a guy used to hurricanes would build a barn, plus he's pretty overboard on everything but alcohol these days)...big old drum wood heater actually keeps it pretty toasty at night until we open it up in the early AM...the trailer is for the finer things in life, although the bathroom is the shop shower and it's pretty cold in there...not quite as nice as a "camp" as we call them here, and it is fun as hell!

We serve the local commune of friendly folks who are the neighbors (who know how to fix anything with the biggest hearts in the world) a huge Cajun/Creole New Years Eve feast every year and they have it marked on their calendars now to not be anywhere else now! Just out of Walland city limits (if it has any)...right at the beginning of the Foothills parkway and near the Tail of the Dragon.
