First strider, are they suppose to be this way?

I’m pretty new to the knife world, but being on here and watching videos on YouTube I’m learning a lot. That being said, I still don’t know enough that I should. I purchased this on Facebook, from an individual. I don’t have any bad feelings, but I’ve never received a knife in a baggie before?

I’ve read that about striders, but I thought maybe it was a baggie with a sticker on it or something? Is it literally just a Ziploc bag?

And is this the way the knife is supposed to look? I don’t even know the name of the knife, because I can’t find the thread. I think it’s a Mick Strider, SMK, Gunners Grip, CTS-XHP, Tiger Stripe. What is CT’s-xhp?
On a hinderer you have xm18, xm24, what’s the actual name of this knife?

Are they hard to open? It’s definitely not as smooth as any Hinderer I own. I also thought that was a thumb stud, my thumb ain’t flipping that bad boy.🤣

These sides are not interchangeable like a Hinderer. My dumbazz thought they were!🤦🏼‍♂️. But to the body here, this looks legit?

think hole is for opening ...think those "thumb studs" act as the stop pin setup.....

im no strider fan. I won't go into why. not the place. I dont like his knives.
I think I know why. And yes, not about to get into it. And I was hesitant for purchasing this one. This might be a catch and release. Not sure yet. I definitely like flippers.

same as Blues here, I dont own or collect or follow his knives...so no idear.

Mr. Bear knows far more than I do. Who posted already in this thread.....I expect he'd flag it as fake if fake....but maybe he wasnt paying attention?

Did you copy and paste that or type it out just for me? Thank you, that’s awesome! 👍

I am no expert but it looks legit to me. New striders come in a plastic tactical baggie. Yes they are hard to open new, sometimes long after, but they usually break in. Action is not great at the best of times, with some rare exceptions.

To be honest, you should really find out about the knives you purchase beforehand, so you go into a transaction armed with relevant info, and not behind the 8-ball. It's a lot of money to dole out on a guess.

Especially if you find out it's not legit, because we don't allow knives to be sold on the Exchange if they aren't. (Whether clones, counterfeit or homage knives.) In which case you'd be stuck with it.

I’m not going to post pics of every knife I may or may not buy asking if it’s legit. I understand what you’re saying, but you were new once also. I’m not questioning what anyone in this thread is saying, especially those 3. If you read what I wrote, I praised them.

To be honest, I don’t even understand your comment, well, actually I do…….

I’m not looking to be chastised as an adult. If I fail, I fail, no one to blame but me. Thanks for your advice. And I never asked to sell it if it wasn’t real. I would have went back to the individual on Facebook or contacted my bank. Why would I try and sell a fake as a real one and have to deal with the outcome on here? That wasn’t even a question I asked?

I can't help on authenticity as I also don't own a Strider. And not just for the reasons others here alluded to, but because the ergos are atrocious for me. I have handled a few and not one felt right.

OP, Blues Blues is the moderator who re-opened your thread to get help and a discussion with Tim Reeve after your Blade Atlanta frustrations.
