First strider, are they suppose to be this way?

Yeah, that's a Strider alright. I honestly wouldn't try comparing it to most modern production knives. While everyone else was busy making improvements, Strider just keep on doing the same old thing for 20 years. That's why you still see them coming fresh from the shop with off center blades, lock stick, rounded tips, you name it. Not that they don't have their charm. I have a couple that I really enjoy. You just need to know what to expect out of them.

With that being said what is the allure to them? I’m just trying to buy knives that I find interesting. I thought this looked really nice without G10 or micarta.

Is this like Mercedes, looks cool going to have issues, but you’re stylin?
 
think hole is for opening ...think those "thumb studs" act as the stop pin setup.....

im no strider fan. I won't go into why. not the place. I dont like his knives.
