First Sword?

Exactly what you'd need to back up your 300 WinMag if you went on a hunting trip to Jurassic Park.

Your collection just isn't complete without a Tarwar.

If anything over 20" is going to be considered a sword, there's lots of good choices.

21.5" Chitlangi by kami Sher, shown next to an AKM47 and CZ75B. I think that's big enough to be considered a short sword.

Wolf, that photo is pr0n! :D

That, Cpl, is what I have come to realise too ...:D

The more I look at their lines the more I like them.

I thought you may have had a Uddha sword in your collection?

I think I'll have to get the Tarwar, Uddha, and both Tibetans eventually. And a 25 inch Siru. And a Chit Bowie. And that one monstrosity the Cpl has; I believe it was a 44 inch AK or something like that.

This is I think the nicest Uddha I've seen. It belongs to Westfork and this pic is from the H.I. picture thread:

The handle is magnificent but that blade is *perfect*.

(that the H.I. Bhutan sword on the bottom)

The recommendations for a first khuk are well documented by Karda with input from many knowledgeable HI veterans, but what about recommendations for a first sword?

What are you interested in doing with your sword? Cutting? Thrusting? Cutting and thrusting? One handed or two?

I like all of my HI swords but I like them for very different reasons.

Since I have no clue how to use a sword I'm really not planning on doing anything with it. I'm just gonna get the first DOTD sword that appeals to me. It certainly won't be my only HI sword. I plan on owning them all one day.

Is that a working AK, Wolf? Sigh... Had one on the farm back home. Miss the right to decide my own fate.

Mind is 50% made up about moving stateside. Had a quiet debate with my wife last night. She still wants to retire in Taiwan. I was saying,"Yes, dear. But in the meatime we could move to a FREE country".
Just need to get a job first.

Oooh engraved Tarwar. Neem handle?

That's almost pr0n.
Yep, that's what it is. Hard to believe it's that pretty after dropping a tree, eh?

NO! I keep missing the DOTDs on them! It's become my "unicorn".

Sadly, that's not mine. That's Dave Rishar's 40" (IIRC) Ganga Ram Special.

Well... If Anybody wants to find a Good Home for their HI Everest Katana, PLEASE let me know!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!

Tarwar first.

But in all fairness, I have a few swords from the HI line and back to collecting them after a stormy period in my life. But I'am also attracted to the lines of the 13th-15th century swords such as Michael "Tinker" Pearce makes up here.

Man, I'll never get to my firearms standards with all of the lovely beauties Auntie and fellow BF types have here.

Funny how the Tarwar is the shrimp of the lot there. Disgraceful. :D

I must concur on that blade. Has that slight serpentine quality... more pronounced than on my own Uddha without being overly tortuous. The Uddha is really close to a salawar yataghan/khyber knife hybrid, ain't it? It's a very aesthetically pleasing shape, and I don't regret getting one before some of the other wares available.

That is the exact photo which got me interested in the Uddha.

What a beautiful piece of steel.
