First TGA2 mod

Nothing major.......but it did turn out beautiful. Died the micarta scales black. They turned out almost a super deep, rich brown, but it matches the muddy blade perfectly.

Looks good! Did the blade coating or tubes take on any black from the dye?

Not at all......it soaked for probably 10 minutes in warm water. I rinsed it in cold water and wiped it clean.

Looks yummy like a Wonka bar

You can make out the TG cross-hatched handle texture much better.

What did you use? I hope it will stay colorfast.

I used black liquid rit dye. Micarta soaks that stuff right up. It's definitely permanent and doesn't come off no matter how hard you rub it.

Man, it looks like black G10, but with the warmth of canvas Mic-- I'm lovin that right there! :thumbsup:

I may do thast to my TGM A2 when it gets here, if Maroon canvas doesn' live up to my expectations lol

There seems to be a lot of variety in the depth of color in the Maroon batches...on my BURP it was a deep rich Burgundy

Not Burgundy like this...

That looks really nice. Great job on a seemingly simple Mod. Gives me a little inspiration. Is that really muddy? It sure looks like Desert Sage in the pics.

My bad.....my other TGA2 was muddy. This is indeed sage.
