I copied this from one of my posts a few weeks ago:

Here is a great tutorial that helped me a lot, from fellow forumite ChuddyBear:

Part 1

hey all!

a little uppdate from my side!

sorry to say, but when i start working, the little eager beaver sets in to motion, and stuff progresses rather quickly! :P i got my leather and stuff yesterday, and started working , didn't get much done that day, but today i must say stuff has gone smooth.

started working around 15 (3pm) ish, and found out now it was time to post some stuff.
i actualy forgot to take pictures along the way, but as this is just a post of my sheath making, and not a guidline, it must suffice.

this is the current state of my sheath.. all the leather is cut, and its glued together.

as you can see, the knife enjoys it's new resting place. it fits snuggly.

my original plan, using 2 layers at the spine, needed much tweeking, and the end result was 10(!!) layers total :D but, the good thing here, is that each layer is 2mm, so the total thickness is (only) 2cm at it's worst.

the belt loop i constructed as easily as cutting 2 paralell cuts in the leather, and wet molding them, i nice result. good balance, and perfect hight (for me at least)

i thought that since this was MY product, it needed a "logo". my name, falch, is a tweaking of falk, meaning falcon...so whats better then having a styalized falcon on the sheath!

a last photo of my workplace! "tidy" and neat, just like i like it! :D

well, thats how far ive gotten in almost a day, now for the fine tuning, cutting of excess leather, sanding it down, making loads of holes, stitching it up, a little polishing, and for last a little hotwax treatment! looking forward too it! love this!! :D

thanks for reading!

Looks like you have a good start. There are a few good sheath making forums online, unfortunately, there is no such forum on BF at this time. Hopefully, as more people express an interest, this situation will change.

thanks! i think i've read the ones worth reading, and the ones i have read have given me a load of tips! currently i have started the "fine polish" regarding the stitching, sanding and hotwaxing. i think there will be a post in a couple of days, comcerning the final product!

thnaks for the tipd

well well...

after a long brake in sheath work, i finaly got it finished!
it has been laying on my desk for a while, only needing the button for the safty thingy around the knife, and today i got it and finished it!

so behold, my amateur masterpice!

the current finished status of my knife!

with the leather loops in use, pretty nice combining those sizes of knifes.

a little shot of the knife outside of its sheath.

a back shot of the sheath, the belt loop makes the knife a high cary, and i have made a leather strap i thread through the loop, making a little more wiggly cary, but lower, and opens up the posibility of straping it to stuff other then my self.

so, there it is! thanks for reading, and giving pointers!

Well done. Looks good and functional too. My only concern would be the possibility of loosing the spyderco if it snagged on something. This may only be a concern for me since I seem to find every snag possible when out and about.

well, yeh, there is that concern, but i think (and hope) the loops are tight enough to hold it on. i takes an effort getting it off(and on). thanks
