Fishin' with your Traditional Knives

Wow this hasn’t been updated in a long time. That’s gotta change!

Some of you guys are using really nice knives! I use a Rough Rider Fishing knife, toothpick style with a blade, fish scaler, hook disgorger, hook sharpener etc. Its cheap, its effective, and its stainless (which is good since most of my fishing is in brackish water). And mine has cool looking copper bolsters and black smooth bone. I wore my first one out, so I called the store where I got it (named for a mountain range) and got it replaced (lifetime warranty). It works for me.

CV, so you really like the "fishing knife" style? I have a couple, but have never used them for fishing, sticking with an old, thin blade Buck 121 Fisherman for filleting, a Buck 121 Fisherman with the late 1980's thick blade for bait cutting, and now a Buck 110 for cutting bait (shrimp, mullet, squid, etc.) I use all stainless and synthetic construction for the same reasons you do (salt and brackish water). Post a picture of your fisherman's knife - been thinking about buying the Case Fisherman model with yellow Delrin handles. These are my two most used for fishing (before buying the Smoke Jumper 110 I used an old Buck 442). Thanks, OH
