Good way to start the 2014 fish pics thread, walleye are some of my favorite fish. I've been out ice fishing a couple times this year but I've only been catching perch, lots of them but not photo worthy.
 
Nice mix bag of goodies you got there! And a nice fat Walter to top it off. Ice fishing? All caught from the same hole?
Well done, way to start the year off right!

Nice mixed bag. The only ice when fishing here is usually in my rum & coke! Haven't got my lisence yet for '14, but will soon. Threw a rod in the boat motor last year (made me sick to see it) and have yet to get it fixed. 3 year old boat/motor too.

Had an unseasonably warm weekend here, its been up around 40-50* or so and almost all the snow is gone and a couple faster moving spots at the bottom of dams were all thawed out. So I went out to try and catch something with out getting too cold. The trout didn't surprise me too much… wasn't expecting that carp though.

 
I like to eat carp . They are not bad on a sandwich and tartar sauce. But catching them is a blast. I fish for them often.
 
Most guys I talk to won't eat them, but I think they're pretty good as long as they come from a clean creek or pond. I have a couple jamaican buddies who showed me some great ways to prepare them (spiced and fried), there is a ton of meat on a carp especially the tail fillets and in most areas they're very plentiful or even over populated. Fighting them is a lot of fun, I've even hooked up with a few on my fly rod just for laughs.
 
One fish in five hours... Oh well, first catch of the year and a beautiful day outside (other than the couple hours of 30+mph wind gusts).

I have been ordering flies to be ready to go hunt gills with my tenkara rods as soom as we get some open water

I keep forgetting to get pictures to add here. I did just catch a walleye and snapped a pic before I released it.

 
1st fish for 2014 little bass caught on my new tenkara rod my lovely wife got me for Christmas caught 3 more all small (10 in.) on a olive wooly bugger . All were released to grow up
