Caught a butt yesterday from my yak (halibut that is).

I finally got to do a little fishing...

 
In a river on Lake Vermilion Minnesota. Was fishing for Walleyes and i think it was going after the slip bobber i was using and missed it and ended up hooking him in the stomach! Was dragging the boat all over. Thought for sure was gonna break the line since only had 6lb. test on the reel. Can't believe we got it in the boat.:o So so awesome. Tried to weigh it but it flung my digital scale in the river while trying to.
 
i purchased a fishing kayak back in january. i'm just now getting around to taking her out. second trip out, i landed this beauty today. :)

 
Ice just came off the lake a couple weeks ago and I made up for lost time this weekend. Here's a couple of the better catches.

Fun stuff...ouch! Pinch the barb and back it out? Or turn it into some body piercing art??
At the hospital close to my cabin they have a room of all the lures they have pulled outta people over the years. It's quite the collection!
 
I pushed the barb through then clipped it with my leatherman. Dont go fishing without it.


The hook goes into the skin easily but try to push it back out is like trying to push it through leather.

Wow that's a big lake, can't see the other side. Darn nice fish and looks like a dandy boat too.
