Fisk Bandolera NLT-My First Piece of the Year

Or dessert...? :D

:o Joss, I meant to spell dessert but the ivory does look like desert sand too so OK either way I guess. :D ;)

What do you think Paul? Black gator insert on black leather? I will call you tomorrow.

Thanks guys and gal for the kind words.

Awesome addition to your Fisk collection, Kevin. I was fortunate enough to handle this one at Little Rock and thought everything about it was right! Steel, blade profile, guard, dreamy ivory with all the right (and unique) embellishments. All the above, plus it felt great in the hand. Congratulations definitely in order!

- Joe

Thanks Joe. The weight from the frame handle and the cross bar really help to balance the bowie as the blade carries some weight.
Would make short work of a 2X4, though don't think I will try it. ;)

My favorite Fisk ever. That would be a centerpiece of any collection. Congrats.

Kevin,
Congratulations! Nice grab INDEED! Where is the name derived from? (..my screen is too small to read the brochure info)

I was going to suggest send the knife to be buffed! Danbo might volunteer to window-lick it clean. By my picture it has all these blackish smudges on the Blade. ;) Sorry, just having fun, Kevin. Beautiful and Classic! You got a winner!
David

(I want your sheephorn Fisk bowie!)

That's a real beauty. Nice work Jerry! Congratulations Kevin and thanks for sharing it with us.

Extremely beautiful Kevin. My favorite Fisk as well. The whole thing fits very well.

I think this knife would win the 2008 knife of the year award so-far.

I'm already keeping a file of likely candidates - that way I won't have to rely on my faulty memory as to which knives were made this year. You can bet this one went straight into that file. Total Fisk awesomeness.

Kevin, I liked everything about this knife. Jerry has of lately been
incorporating subtle changes to some of his classic designs, elevating
them to the next level. This is one of these for sure!!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Kevin,

Great catch. I particular like the handle (shape and ivory) and the engraving.:cool:
I even like it so much that I will trade you my spot on Jerry's list for it...but you have to wait until 2011 or there abouts.:D

Marcel

I wish there were words to describe how great your new Bandolera NLT looks. Fisk knocked that one out of the ballpark and through two planets.

Without question, Jerry pulled out ALL the stops on this one. Jerry, your engraving has matured incredibly. No more "scratchin'...."

OK, I give up.... How do we get "good luck running wheat pattern on ferrule". That's a good luck sign?? :D  :p I'd like to know this the next time I see it.

And of course, Chuck's photo is abundantly clear and colorful. As they all are. :)

I am pleased for you Kevin. THAT is a priviledged piece to own.

Nicely done Jerr.

Coop

Thanks Coop and everyone that has replied so favorably.

Coop "running wheat" is a very old pattern that signifies "good harvest", and back in the day before irrigation and pesticides it was considered the best of luck when a good harvest came in thus it evolved into a sign of "good luck".

Kevin, so far I've narrowed it down to Black/Black with either Black Full Quill Ostrich, Black Alligator, or Black Lizard. I talked to Kessler today and he mentioned Black Sting Ray and I do have a piece of baby sting ray with the white diamond flash still intact. We'll decide together when you call.

Paul

All time favorite Fisk. One of the Best looking bowie's I have seen. Simply Fantastic congrats. Wanna see the sheath

Here's another photo I received from Chuck today showing the handle detail.
Jerry really did a superb job in fitting up the ivory to the handle.

Good lord, Jerry's work never ceases to impress the hell out of me. I want one of his older fighters so bad........ There was one on the cover of a book a long time ago, I don't remember the name or model, but I'd sell a kidney for it.. I seem to remember it having a red handle , wish I could find a pic......
