Fiskars vs. Estwing - which one?

I just got the Estwing 16" Camper's Axe E44A from Amazon. I put a good edge on it and went into the woods to test it out. I was impressed with the edge holding. No vibration either. But then I noticed that it was bent slightly around where the rubber handle begins. So I packed it up to return to Amazon. It definitely was not bent when I got it.

if i could only have one, i'd get an Estwing, because they are so durable.

i think the Fiskars handle better though by a large scale, so i'd prefer them for trips, especially on foot.

there is a point where having a tool that is durable beyond what you need is like carrying a boar anchor around. - its weight detracts more than its utility.

such is the case with Estwings on the trail IMHO.

My dad still has his leather handled Estwing camp axe from the 70's. He did plenty of woods bumming and camping with it. I have the big camp axe and leave it in my car for car camping and fire duty. Great stuff.
