The problem with that idea is that these are not auctions set to finish at a precise clock time ran by a computer. It is basically Jo / Nate pushing the thread unlock button according to their PC's 3:00 PM time Eastern.
The thread being locked "finishes" at a certain time, i.e. exactly when it opens. It opens when the official US Time is 12:00 pm (my time), exactly. I don't know if you have followed the exact US Official NIST time when these knives become available, but I have and they become available at 12:00:00 p.m., not 12:00:01 p.m. Writing a script to respond to a known posted thread in a known forum under a known username (your own) is IMO doable plain and simple. I do not have the LINUX/UNIX skills myself, but I do have 13+ years in computer forensics and I am telling you that ignoring the possibility is a mistake. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
