Recommendation? Fixed Blade EDC Advice

So I've put some more thought into the idea to EDC a (small-ish) fixed blade. Given the legal situation here it's less hassle, most locking folders aren't legal, so I figured I might try a fixed blade outside work.
A few legal parameters:
- No double edges
- No karambits
- No tantos
- max blade length (12cm) 4.7 inches probably cap it at 4.6 to be on the safe side.

A few personal preferences:
- No plasticy scales (like Kraton, FRN, etcpp),
- As close to the limit length so 4.25 to 4.6
- Leather Sheath would be nice, Kydex is fine.

Currently eyeing:
- RMJ Tactical UCAP
- TOPS Tex Creek
- Kizer Little River Bowie

Should give an idea what shape I like. Something Bowie-ish Clippoint with a swedge, fuller would be cool.
I am asking since I am really not familiar with the steels that are more common with fixed blades and some Input would be appreciated. I am sure there are more knives that I should consider.

Thanks in advance.

I've said it in other threads but I've really been enjoying my Benchmade Altitude. Think of it as a fixed blade Bugout. Super lightweight and an excellent slicer. I like it so much I bought a backup. I've tried EDC'ing bigger fixed blades (Diskin Hunter, Adams 375, Spartan Phrike) but found them to be awkward and uncomfortable to carry. The Phrike wasn't bad but I found it to be too "Tactical" and less EDC than what I was after.

I can appreciate the lightweight/disappears in the pocket aspect. But I personally prefer the weight, reminds me I got the knife on me, I am used to carrying a bunch of stuff in my pockets daily, so it's not a concern (plus a real handle works better with my hands)

Esee 4 1095, bk16 1095cv, bradford guardian 4 s30v, ruike jagger 14c28n.
I know not your style but i carry one of these daily.

The Ruike might warrant a closer look.

Added note: Budget would be up to 300$ or so.

Thats plenty of budget the ruike is under $80 of hunting. Just tagged you.
The bk16 is comfy but doesnt come with kydex or leather. Kydex can be had for around 40.

I noticed, thanks. But I am not in the US, I could probably find it here though if I got with it. :)

Quick question: do you intend to carry this concealed (in your pocket, boot, IWB, etc.) or do you intend to wear it openly? I only ask because concealed carry may require a thinner profile and thin handle scales to carry comfortably.

Just on a belt. No need for a thin profile, good question though.

Spyderco Street Beat. It doesn't approach your max blade length, but it's a bad motor scooter of a knife.

If you are willing to paracord wrap a handle, the Benchmade Adamas Fixed Blade is pretty neat.

I don't own one, but the Hogue EX-F02 looks fun as well.

But if I were in the market for the kind of knife you are looking for, I'd get a Southern Grind Jackal Pup.

Grab one from @whitty over at USA Made Blade.

While well below your budget, I have been thoroughly impressed with these two fixed blade knives.
While they are a little smaller than your ideal size blade, they have been a great EDC for me on my hip

Kizer Ki1021A2 or Kizer Ki1021A1 (same knife different color handle)

My buddy has a LionSteel M5. Very nice knife. Nylon sheath tho. At $155, room for a kydex or leather sheath to be made. I have no experience with Sleipner (sp?) steel.

Fox TUR in G10 is also at the $150 USD mark.

Have you thought about contacting one of the European knife makers on this forum? You could get exactly what you wanted or have them tweak one of their current designs. $300 is a respectable budget for a 4.5" fixed blade. Just a thought.

The Fox TUR was eyed as well, it's a good looking knife. And I thought about going the custom route and actually got a design I am working on. I wouldn't mind buying from a US maker at all, since fixed blades are less hassle with customs, just have to factor additional cost into it.
I thought maybe Philip Patton could be worth talking to since (besides the fuller) he is close to what I like/envisioned.

I think the Bradford Guardian has come up before as a possible.

And joker in the deck Fallkniven Kolt (if I spelled that wrong please give me a mulligan on the consonants).

With your budget I would look for a Watson Kidon. Perfect balance. Not to thick not too thin (5/32” stock).

Ground thin enough to be a very good cutter and an excellent distal taper.

For being a simple knife with around 4” blade it feels very refined.

It also carries very discretely.

IIRC you are in Germany. The GEK EDC* was made to specifically comply with the fixed blade knife law in your country. Bowie-style clip, swedge and as close to the limit as can be etc.
It has detachable micarta scales, so you can put what ever your want on there. The knife can be had with either closed or skeletonized scales and with PE or SE. Scale colors are brown, black, OD.
You can also get the knife in Böhler K110 (D2), if you shop around for an Eickhorn GEK EDC instead of the more recent Böker. Eickhorn is non-stainless (but with an extremely tough coating), the Böker is stainless Böhler N690.
The Eickhorn can be had new from for example eflay and some vendors.
I prefer the K110 Eickhorn and have used mine for camping, hiking etc for years. I really like the knife.

There are of course sources in Germany but they are not forum supporting vendors, so here the knife from KC

…...or you could just buy a F.A.R.T:D (Faboulous Awesome Rhino Tip) from Buschknives

*German Expedition Knife EDC. The little brother to the bigger GEK.
