Hi Gang- Years back, I EDCed a Hartsfield kozuka, for quite some time, then folders took over. But, since I have acquired Daniel's A2 lil tanto, :D I have been carrying this knife. It just drops in my pocket, front or back, and rides very nicely.
Who else carries a fixed blade? I bet not many but give it a try.

My DFK pocket fighter. I attached teklok to it and carry it horizontal on my left side for cross draw. It's pretty nice, Rolf!

I love and often carry (not everyday tho) my BHK frontier valley patch knife, O1, scandi (although I need to reprofile and bring the shoulders down a bit- its a bit of a tub), green micarta. Nice fella, drops right in the pocket, and is far more durable than the Opinel 6/8 I tend to also carry. Love me a small fixed blade, especially with a full size handle

Thanks Rolf!

You know... it just makes my whole week being mentioned in the same paragraph as Hartsfield. :D

Great to hear on the knife too! When I came up with that one I was going to bring a knife back home to carry and show off... but like the proverbial shoemaker I sell 'em all! I really like a light, pocket carry knife that slices well and am glad I stuck with my instincts.

I'm just saying... a folding framelock version might be cool. ;)

Hi Pjackst! I looked that one up, talk about cool. It looks like an ideal EDC to me. I'm also an Opinel fan and carry a #8 from time to time... one of the only factory knives I will carry.

I carry a fixed blade everyday. I also carry a Kershaw Skyline and have gotten rid of nearly all my folders. I'm a fixed blade guy. Typically it's either the Teak rigger, Stinger, or some of my other customs by different makers. Like my walnut/1084 drop point hunter by my good bud DanCo in TX.

Cheers Daniel! I like patch knives a lot. Small, useful, packable. Love Opinels too. I recently bought a Opinel 10. It is comically oversized, but I find myself really enjoying it, and it has kicked my number 8 aside from my 3 knife pocket rotation.

That being said, for those who like a classic style- tools designed as and marketed as "patch knives" tend to be a really nice size for quotidian carry. I hope this note helps someone take a peek and pursue a new custom patch blade ;)

Small fixed blades are a sweet spot for me. Although I tend to lean more towards Bird & Trout knives simply for style. For me a 2.25" - 3.0" blade on a 4.25" - 4.75" handle is just right. They fill a good role for edc.

Cool... the #9 or 10 may be my next purchase, I want a larger one too. My friend took a #8 around the world and it served him well, that is how I got into them.

I'll admit to cutting some cloth the other day and thinking of how a patch knife must be made... I really enjoy things like that.

Small fixed blades like that is where it is at!

I'm making more TiBOK's and Backpackers soon with a few other small fixed blades in the plans. I'd like to do a CPM154 Backpacker or possible Legal EDC run and still haven't forgotten about the Hunters and Pocket Fighters too.

While I own a few, I typically only carry them when camping. Chicago isn't very fixed blade friendly (Not knife friendly at all, really, but folders pass under the radar more easily).

That said, the patch knife, bird and trout, and small woodcraft style (sub 4") - all do plenty of camp duty for me. Anything bigger than what they can handle, gets an axe.

These three genres could easily take care of my knife/tool addiction for a longggg time.

I also carry a fixed blade of some kind just about everyday. Of course Daniels knives are in the rotation. Throw a Ti Backpacker in your pocket or on your belt and forget that it is there until you need it ....or someone says " that is a awesome knife!"

Thanks a lot, gang.
It's nice to switch things up.
And thanks for that pic, Daniel. I have one gorgeous knife! I have several kwkns but Daniel's is my favorite.
