Fixed blade for camping / basic bushcraft?

I simply will not carry a heavy blade like the BK-2 or the SCH37. (I own a BK-2.) Either works for car camping, but that is about it for me. I won't carry one in a sheath hiking. If I need such a blade hiking, I carry a short machete which will out chop either. I have no doubt that you can make fuzz sticks with the SCH37. My feeling is why bother? Fuzz sticks are fun, but honestly I don't have much need for them and I don't really need to process much wood for fires. The folding saw works well for this if I need to cut stuff to shorter lengths.

When all is said and done, we choose the knives and tools that work for us personally. I have my preferences as most do. That does not say that your liking the SCH37 is a bad call. In the woods, I honestly seldom even use a fixed blade at all anyway, but usually have one with me.
