I haven't bought a folder in years and don't see myself anytime soon . Not sure why just wondering if anyone else has the same feelings ?

I love carrying fixed blades. Nothing big, usually a neck knife size. Gotta get over the funny looks from non-knifers. It's a tool for cripes sakes.

I love fixed blades! I have one or two folders but this is the bulk of my fixed blades.
You always hear people talk about "lock failures" or the blade not being centered. No worries when carrying a fixed blade.
After all, a folding knife is just a broken fixed blade when you think about it. ;)

I've carried a particular folder for over two yrs. Recently, I purchased a Bradford Guardian3 fixed blade, crossdraw, horizontal belt sheath carry that fits all of my casual needs. It hides very nicely under an open t-shirt here in Florida, and I forget that I have it until I need it.
I still carry my folding knife, but it seldom gets used.

Beautiful knife right there!

I have an interest in fixed blades but in my daily life it is harder for me to use them. It is easier for me to carry a folder so I buy them to use, I don't have all that much aesthetic attachment to them. I sometimes buy fixed blades to collect and look at, maybe even to never use them. I occasionally experiment with carrying a fixed blade, a Guardian 3 is my latest to try for that.

If I'm edc'ing a fixed blade for the week I wil always have a folder in my pocket.
I like carrying fixed blades but only because I have some that I like, as I don't really have any physical need for them in daily life.

Oh that guardian 3 has been on my list for quite a while . I found a site that has guardian 3 ' s for 90 bucks and I'm not sure why I haven't grabbed one yet , I'm waiting to find a full flat grind

I have too many fixed blades and several nice folders that I carry. The Guardian 3 and 5 are two fixed blades that can be easily carried and concealed without much effort. The folders--a few XM18s, a Reate HorizonCF, an Inkosi (large) and an Umnumzaan--are compact enough to disappear in my pocket, but can be retreived easily if I need to cut something. I rotate among a few, but I find my favorites to be a CPK field knife and a small Gravelle custom--similar in size to the Guardian 3 and also in 3v. Horizontal carry with kydex and tek-lok.

I have only a few fixed blades and a few folders. I use most of what I have so I don't keep a giant collection...just what I find I need. I've sold off a lot of the extraneous parts of my collection over the past year. For the most part I have to say I've been carrying just the folders up until recently. Currently at work/every day jobs I'll bring the Spyderco Police/Police 3 or my XM-18 3.5 bowie or spanto.

For a fixed blade, I usually go with the Busse SOB satin INFI tan/black handles in a kydex. It's perfectly sized for my hand, modest size blade but more than adequate to get the job done. Usually carry vertically on the waist but currently waiting for a Welke kydex taco to carry horizontally. I have a lot less clothing material and not as baggy clothing as the guys, so it's harder to obscure a fixed blade with a thick sheath/kydex...the taco it's very compact and has the pull the dot straps.

I do carry the XM and the SOB together depending on the day/work, but I use the folders more for work. SOB is more for carry outside of work.

Cow,
That is an old CRKT I picked up in the early 2000's. A discontinued model

I focus more on fixed blades but folders, but I do have a decent stock of both.

That would be one terrific sale price...if real...

Folders are easier to carry for me, unless I'm camping. Even a small fixed blade seems to stick out like a sore thumb with everything else I have on me. I appreciate them for their strength, but I have far fewer fixed bladed vs. folders.

I love folders, but I love fixed blades more.

There are two main problems with fixed blades for me, unfortunately.

1: I live in Germany. Carrying a fixed blade knife, regardless of how small it is and whether or not it's legal, makes people really uncomfortable. And I'm not just talking about in town or in a city, I don't even like to carry on remote trail hikes anymore either because I get too many looks. I don't like the attention. And for what it's worth, I'm talking about carrying sub four inch Barkies with wood handles, nothing "tacticool" or "scary".

2: Even in uniform, I get the same reaction as above. I can carry a ridiculously large folder and use it and there's no problem, but God forbid I have a fixed blade on my belt. Suddenly it's taboo.

I get mixed results as well so I make it a point to let my shirt or jacket cover the sheath also no dangers for me just high and tight I totally understand why people give looks though I wish they didn't

Fixed blades are fine as long as the blade is under 12cm long.

In fact for as long as I`m staying in Germany I`ll carry a fixed blade. At the moment a Fred Perrin La Griffe and Pepperspray because it´s gotten unsafe, especially when I`m with my girlfriend, where I moved to 2 1/2 years ago.
But if you want to be real sheeple friendly here carry a SAK. People don`t even consider them knives here. Or go with something ultratraditional like a Nicker.

I like fixed and folders. These are the regular fixed in my carry rotation.

(No idea what the stag head knife is, was given to me by my father for my first knife. There is a feint marking of 'Germany' on the blade.
