Fixed Blade or Folder?

Several folks have suggested to carry both. I agree. My daily carry is a 3" fixed worn in a leather cross-draw sheath, along with a CRK folder in my RH pocket. I use each one often; each one is better suited, than the other, to some tasks.

Which do you feel like carrying today?

Their both knives, keep them sharp and maintained and they will both serve their purpose in cutting things. So it's a question of if you feel like playing the specific type of knife to the required task or which you feel like carrying.

For example I'm not grabbing my Kershaw Cryo to cut up a lot of cardboard at home or even my fixed blade Spyderco Mule Team 18 in S110V, I'm grabbing my Opinel and worksharp field sharpener to touch it up if I'm slicing up a large recycling bin's worth of cardboard. It will out cut either or those knives and touching it up will take all of a few seconds so the advantages of the S110V in wear resistance is pointless at home. But if I'm going out of the house I'm grabbing the Cryo as it's easier to carry. The Mule Team would get carry time if it were more legal in the area I live in and I still had a job that required a lot of cutting of materials that dulled blades.
