Fixed Blade vs Folders

Price is also a big concern. I feel that I can get a quality fixed blade with a sheath for far less, than a more expensive and weaker folder. I live in a state where open carry of fixed blades is legal, and my CCDW permit allows me to carry "ANY" knife concealed.
Then there is my job, I can only carry a "normal pocket knife". Even then, we aren't allowed to use anything but their assigned spring loaded safety knives. So, in my mind, I can carry any knife that fits in my pocket, cause I can't use it anyway.
I don't even need a knife at my work so much, but I still carry something. I do have a few slipjoints, a Spyderco Endura, and I'm thinking about a Manbug with G-10 scales.
But, if I had it my way, I'd carry a 4" fixed blade on my belt all the time. They are stronger, for the most extreme of uses and situations. I admit, my folders haven't failed me, but I've never been in a situation that pressed them beyond their limits. In some dire emergency, I think my fixed blades would more likely stay in one piece. Hope I never need to find out.

I prefer fixed blades, and EDC a fixed and folder everyday. The fixed I edc isn't my favorite one, though. That would go probably go to my custom from Bruce Culberson. As for folders, I edc a ZT0560 and a Vic Farmer just about every day.

I prefer small FBs for everyday carry, but I do carry a folder many days. I have several Alan Davis FBs that are small enough for pocket carry or easy crossdraw belt carry.
