The ranger band isn’t necessary for that knife - I just have it on there to create friction / retention on that sheath I use now and then ( as sharp as that knife is , last thing I want is it falling onto my leg, or dog or anything). The Long Paw handle isn’t going anywhere once it’s gripped. I’m actually growing to appreciate that handle geometry more and more. You get a lot of control with that knife 🥇

Well, I like rubber handles, & I think it looks wicked Cool with that on it......
It has the best of both worlds....Good Job!
 
A hunter style in 26C3 high carbon steel at 63-64 RC. Some pretty darn nice ironwood too. With it's small of the back (SOB) right hand draw sheath:
