Fixed blades

I have had this SOG for over 32 years and it has seen and cut some things! Stabbed some feral hogs, skinned and butchered deer, cleaned fish, started campfires…another great hiking knife that is a trusted companion. View attachment 2405377

I think I just made a sock baby. 😍

*Just when I finally think that I have some nice sh!t, someone comes along and screws up my high-&-mighty opinion of myself. :(

Apparently, Work Tuff Gear has gone FULL-ON "Nathan and Jo Carothers" with their drops.

I've picked up a couple from DLT, but over the last few months I've noticed that the popular models do not last long even on that web site. They had a release in the last couple of weeks and all blades were grabbed quickly.

Knife Center has had some in 2023, too, but most stock is also all gone and/or did not last long on the site.

To me, it appears that their "Mt. Man" drop blew-out in seconds, tonight.

Apparently, you have to have the Doc Holliday'esque "quick draw", and N.A.S.A.-type computer, of madcap_magician madcap_magician . Otherwise, you're pretty-much screwed.

*Most of the time, my desktop can't walk and chew bubblegum at the same time.

I actually have a very analog answer to how fast I am at drops.

I scale my browser window so it's just large enough to see all the site elements I need to check out and no larger (would waste fractions of a second in unnecessary cursor movement). I have a click scroll wheel mouse that makes it easy with some practice to roll up and down a web page with some precision.

Shortly before a drop, I log into the site, double check my addresses and payment info is preloaded, and practice a couple times adding something to my cart and checking out.

Then I put Post-it notes on my monitor screen where each button on a page load that I need to click will pop up and in the order it will do so.

No fancy tech, literal Post-it notes.

Now there will be a Post-it note shortage!🤣

That's impressive but way more than I am interested in doing to acquire a new knife.
I think the chase is fun. I limit my chasing to CPK and Vehement Knives. I don't want to get out of control or let knives become too important in my life. Actually chasing hard-to-get knives is way more satisfying to me than having the money to just buy anything I want.

The scarcity helps me control what I spend. Even though I'm quick, I still probably miss 30% of the time or more. I'm a little faster on DLT and Bladeforums from practice. I've never been successful at all on some other sites.

I use a somewhat similar method, albeit not as effective, as yours. I try to "train" my browser to the links in question.

For the most part, I've had decent luck with my fixie temptations.
