Fixed blades

Saw that in the market place.... a beauty for sure! Congrats on picking that up.
I was very happy to snag it! It's slightly longer than my first Walkabout, so I have to carry it a little differently depending on which pants or shorts I choose. But that's not a big issue, as it's still a great size for pocket carry and even fits in the same pocket as my S&W 340 .357 Mag. The slimmer taco sheaths are great for pocket carry and one-handed deployment too.

I totally agree! That large chopper just screams ‘swing me’🤣. So nice to be able to swing forcefully when tired or simply cut with cold hands and not ‘have to’ grip like a vise.

A beautiful bad-ass blade with a poor handle design is such a waste. My favorite makers seem to put as much thought into handle design as they do the blade.

I'd love to hold never mind have a Hossom....😉

I'm a contrarian at heart..... I don't even know What a blade is? Haha.
all I think about are Handles.
Bad handles are what got me into knife making!

Here is my thought process.

1. What purpose is the new knife for?
2. Ss. Or doesn't matter?
3. What size/thickness about?
* Edge geometry?
*Hand size, possible persons height?
*Handle shape
*Safety, how guarded does it need to be?
* Materials/handle?
*Fasteners, am I making them? Lanyards/Where?
*Sheath carry?
*maybe Now I think more about blade tip design? What Step is this ? Haha

I guess it's easier for me to do blade design....
(I don't do thumb ramps, sharpening choils, large riccaso's, clip points, jimping, and I don't like doing finger choils, harpoon tips, or any other gimmicks that I can't think of now.

So blade design Is pretty simple and straight forward.
It's All about, where do I put the tip.....

Everything on that picture is absolutely bad ass. I’m going to take a guess at which may be 3V - The sterile long paw to the left of sword ? That micarta is so good !

Nope...... But it's interesting that you picked that one. ;)
That is actually "your knife". Many many months ago when I started that knife I was designing it for you. Hypothetically.
It does have gorgeous vintage micarta, but don't worry, it's Not from "your sheet". It's a different sheet. Different colors, almost bronze weave? It's really pretty. Gorgous.
This is a full Long Paw, maybe fuller than yours. Feels simular to Micah's.
Almost like holding a good potato. (I know I'm bad at marketing, but that's what it reminds me of) in a Good way.

I'm calling this knife design "Trophy Hunter"
It's like a frontier field knife. Thin, and slicey.
*Hopefully it doesn't eat You up too much when somebody else owns Your knife when I put this up on the Exchange? Haha....just kidding. I know you got another one in order with me. Your Beefier one will be good too! :D

The currently unmarked one you mentioned is made from Nitro V @62 HRC
(Their is a total of 5 different blade steels in That picture from above)
