Was wondering how you were liking it.....I was a little surprised you scooped it........Because of steel. Maker is fantastic

The edge geometry is excellent. Nicely balanced with regard to performance, slices and chops. One of those knives that’s fun to use.

New to me Erickson in Magnucut. I’ve been using this in the kitchen, on boxes and dry wood. This one is changing my opinion stainless fixed blades - it’s great.

Personally I could never get as sharp as any of the carbon steels...Just my shite I suppose....... Still have one blade in it but I avoid it.

I’ve got some AEB-L , Nitro V.. great steels. I’ve chipped 52100 , never chipped AEB-L.

I agree with SharpBits when its harder it Shines.
62HRC for working/woods
64 HRC for performance/Kitchen
idk yet for choppers? (Mine is 62, and so far so good) but might be too much for the average person?

I wouldn't go quite that far... I've gleaned a lot of awesome info from lots of great guys here. Not a single blade stuck in that log would have come into my orbit without this place.

I will admit to having used a lot of different hand saws though.

I put my new Slaughter companion knife to work today at the cabin doing more tongue & groove. The knife is very stout so I used it for popping out cut for notches as well as trimming. Very handy knife. Took a break and ate some raspberries and thought a photo by a lupine might be nice.

I'd have to say the same.......Hand saws, pole saws, chain saws & stick saws.....Tools of a fun high flying job...Sux getting old .....Climbed and removed a sweet gum for the last time in 2012 ....I think..... Started around 88' @ 18 yrs old....Some scary crap too for sure...

I got started in 2010 at 22. It's still fun, but it's getting harder to shake off the aches first thing in the morning, or after just sitting down for a few minutes...
