I was on their site, last night, playing around and spec'ing a couple of knives.

I'm not a Magnacut guy but caught Aaron's vid of the AK 8, which is being offered in that particular steel. I've seen a lot of guys asking about a large blade in MC and, unless I'm wrong, it appears that Ethan beat a lot of manufacturers to the punch in getting one out there. I reckon he'll sell a few of 'em. 😄

I plan to score a 6.5 at some point. (*I should've just gotten one when Damien recommended that I do so. :confused:)

I modified this 3V 5.5 a bit. I ground off the jimping on the extended tang. I got in my truck wearing it once and it jabbed into my side and pissed me off, so off to the belt sander it went. I don’t do anything with a knife that would require an aggressively jagged butt end. I also dropped the spine a bit at the pointy end to give it a better (in my mind) profile. Now I love everything about this knife.
 
Danish hunting knife by Hjortekær.

Stainless with sheath marked "Groenland" (With map. Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark.)

Blade length 4.75 in. OAL 9 in. Through-tang. The handle appears to be rosewood.

"Hjortekær" is both the name of a town in Denmark and the manufacturer's name.
(The company still exists, but is now known as Vangedal (https://vangedalkniv.dk/))

Swapped the scales from my dek2 on to the dek1, reprofiled it to thinner geometry and did a little hand sanding to clean up the primary bevels. Also made a new kydex sheath for it that is lower profile.
