Fixed blades

Nicely done, Crag.

I was just glad nobody got hurt......Ha!

Well, once I Thought everything was done, I poured a drink, took off my helmet and started putting tools away, and cleaning up..... I lifted up my ratchet wench, the handle swings down, and Clocks me in the head....harder than I wanted.
Go figure.

This gorgeous Kephart is inbound from Volunteer Knife (their photo). Looking forward to putting it to work.

Oh, it's Yours??? I saw him post it earlier in a different thread. Looks sharp.
I love Kepharts....I should do more of them.
I've often said the Kephart is the single best knife design....(fixed blade)
I don't think I can be proven wrong...lol. ;p

Please keep us posted!

I have been hounding them for a while🤣.
Some folks don’t like the look, but they are great for just about anything.

Sorry the wrench got you, but you can’t just put photos like that with no specs on that chopper! Looks awesome!

I showed it off before. It's my take on a more traditional handle design. Bowie -like.
I have a Wheeler, and I tried to learn from his blade. I added a palm heel feature into my handle. I've never done that before. It was a proof of concept. A learning experience for me....Also I have my AEB-L at 62HRC for this beater. I wanted to see how tough that steel is, That hard.
I might keep doing that hardness for choppers in this steel, for others.
I'm surprised how Good it is.
-this is the Best chopper I own. I think it can hold its own. It's better every time I use it.

I call this model/handle design... "No Sizzle"
I like making Very basic looking knives. Their is a saying, "You don't sell the steak, you sell the Sizzle."

Well, I got No sizzle....... :0. I'm Boring......I like it that way.
Perfect, to me means not having more unnecessary elements to a design.
Less, is More.

I'll take more pictures, and weigh it in a bit. I got poked in the eye, and I need a timeout

THANKS.

PS
Next year I'll have 1 1/2 & Two handed No Sizzle designs....
They are just in heat treat limbo right now

Heal quickly. I love your designs and hope to get one in my hands.

I think Mother Nature was getting me back for cutting her tree down....

I didn't want to, but needed to clear out that area.
It was a neat tree too, idk what it was?
Looks like a maple of some type based on the smoother upper bark and crackled bottom section. I see......
Maybe Aspen? Where are you located.?? 20+ years of tri.ming n removing em on the side......😉Miss doing the hat for sure........Nuthin like riding a 70+ foot stick as you drop the top off it.😜 Whowee!!!

You make a hand and a half version of that, I’m down.

That really is a great design. You’ve got convex zero down to a science. The two knives of yours I have stay sharp with a strop.. I thought I rolled the edge on the 8670 blade - full force chop into a tree stump and rolled my wrist, blade took sharp twist ( I don’t know if that made sense ) - ZERO rolls / zero damage !

This one fills a few rolls, machete, light chopper, carver / bushcrafter, kitchen, could be used any way it needs to be. Patina is starting to form. I love this knife
