I had to show that photo to my wife!
Pretty Cool looking!!!Got this sweet Entrek Merc in a trade!
Pictured next to a MMHW Custom Sgian Dubh.
I need to find an Entrek Force Recon or Buffalo to go with my Bison.
RIP Ray.
Is this what you mean?Pretty Cool looking!!!
Can you show it from the side?
Is this what you mean?
It’s thick at 1/4 inch, but Ray did an excellent hollow grind on all of his knives i’ve had the pleasure of holding. It reminds me (imo) of a cooler TGLB with better ergos for my hand. I realized i don’t like the forward cant on the TGLB or the extremely hollowed out and sculpted handle scales.
I love how the guard is tilted forward on the Merc.
I saw an old for sale ad for a Merc with 3/16ths stock which would be pretty cool too.
Back when Ray was alive, you could order different stock thicknesses and grinds from him.
The guard is aluminum and i believe the pins are stainless steel.I like canted guards too, although I never held one. Previously I made a knife (I guess it's a micarta guard, in the handle), I was hoping the person was a member here (or would at least join some day).... It was my introduction if you will to fighters, of sorts....I think I posted these before?
-but the front handle Is canted, and it just seems that should be more popular...and how it Always should be done. Haha. I want to make more.
Maybe with the tang exposed like That? Instead of hidden tang. I like those pins. Is it a stainless guard or aluminum? I could do either. Or brass. I like the idea of a metal guard

I don’t like canted handles, but i like canted guards!
I don’t like non metal guards either. I do prefer the guard to be a separate piece of metal and not just integral or integral and covered with the handle material. Integral with metal added or non integral and a separate piece of metal looks really nice to me. I hope that makes sense.
Yeesh, that tang is ugly! I know it doesn’t impact performance, but still.View attachment 2766345
Needed a beater yard knife today. This Bradford fit the bill.

This is the last Bradford I’ll ever buy. Bought ~ 2 years ago. Did not meet my expectations, but according to the manufacturer it met theirs.

Hard to believe that they didn’t mark that ugly one a second.
