Fixed blades

This one is 12-15 years old. It was sent in for a new sheath. Worn and used daily by a farrier that is also a rancher. One of my California Coyote models.

What is this and how do I find them? Very nice
SET , Sargent Edged Tools. One man operation out of Southern California. You can find him on instagram these days. Mr Sargent only makes small batches at a time sporadically. Some models are less difficult to find than others. The M4 is kind of a rare one.. I’ve seen 1 or 2 only, the bigger M4-6 is a little more common, maybe 25 of them made ? The maker mentioned doing a run of M4-7’s in the near future..

I posted a want to buy add that ran for a few years until I found one 😂. I think you may have better luck though.

Found him, thank you! He does indeed make some nice knives. I do like that M4 the best, no surprise they are rare 😂 it’s just another one to look out for in his Instagram. Thanks again

Think maybe on what characteristics your customers want. Then maybe tailor your steel choices towards those characteristics. Might help ya sort it out.

I’ve never done a knife show but we do ropings, rodeos, horseshows, etc. Why? Cause that is where our customers are. I’ve done these types of gatherings enough that I can tell if my potential customer is a cowboy or a hunter based on what he asks me. The hunter wants to know how well it holds and edge. The cowboy wants to know how easy it is to resharpen. This helps me pick what steels to use. Its been working for a minute now.
And the city slicker (who cuts maybe two Amazon boxes a year) wants to know how sexy it’ll look in the EDC pics XIII thread. :D

I’ve deliberately avoided watches after a few warnings.. flashlights are starting to look more appealing though 🤦‍♂️
IMO, it’s easier to stop with flashlights. My Fenix PD35 does everything I could demand from a torch.

With watches, you gotta have this dial, and then that diver, and then this GMT so you know the time zone of that one relative in Europe you haven’t spoken to in 10 years, and 10 million different watch straps and bracelets.

Apologies for the digression, back to knives then hehe.
