  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Fixed blades

That's what I was thinking to myself. Only reason I haven't purchased the membership yet is because I don't have anything to sell (yet) that I feel would be up to standard for BF, which I feel is a more discerning crowd, but I'm up to the challenge!

I find that hard to believe. Yes the bladeforums crowd is discerning when it comes to knives. But when I look back at the work I was making available for sale five and a half years ago when I plunged in headfirst after my Covid layoff, I consider a lot of it to be very rough. Of course I have learned a lot since then, and my present work has vastly improved over what I started out on here with, but I think what the guys care about most is "Does the guy who made this knife loves knives? Does he care about making me happy with it?" That's the impression I got those years ago. Looking at a lot of other makers' work was very intimidating, and frankly still is to this day. There are makers on here whose work I will never equal, but I accept that, and do what I love within my means, and am blessed that there are a few guys who love it too.

If you love what you do, and want to share that love, what the heck are you waiting for?

Meh, but there's all the other makers in the world who will never get close to your spot on the bell-curve. You'll do fine.

DeadPineKnives DeadPineKnives post some pics and ask for feedback. Folks here are generally more focused on positivity and constructive criticism.
