Fixed blades

I am loving this Northern Knifeworks Stinger so far. I am also impressed with how well the procut is holding up. I thought it would be a lot less stain resistant than it is!

I'm glad to see Procut is holding up, it might eliminate a lot of our fav steels?
I've got a fairly large (for me) batch coming from Bos any day now ......I am looking forward to it.

-I like Your handle coloring.

Not for me! I like stainless, lol.

How is Bos? I'm thinking about peters but apparently Bob Loveless used Bos and Marcus Lin confirmed that for me. What do you think about them?

It certainly would be my pick over a few of the old standbys. Levi (the maker) has some 15V coming in that I’m going to try out on my next one.

The handles are some older Norplex ivory paper. I’d say in person it gives you 80-90% of the Westinghouse AIM vibes for like 10% of the price. I only wish the patina/bark whatever you wanna call it went a little deeper. Before contouring it looks like this!

I used Bos a lot before I built my own oven. Great price for batches, good quality, always on hrc specs, etc. Recently their turn around went from a few weeks to 8 weeks or so, though.

All my batches have been pretty quick, less than a month.... Early on theyed do the work and ship it before charging me, I thought that was weird, but I liked it.

Now, they charge before doing the treating.

I had one bad batch of A2, but really good/great batches of other steels with outside confirmation of accurate numbers. Overall happy. Glad they do it for Us
Edit to add
Bos is best for high alloy larger blades. They Will only quench 12" of carbon low alloy steels. I had a larger clever in 8670, the butt didn't get hard

Coming from the same place, I like them.
-They Do check every blade. I get little dimples from their Rockwell tester I have to grind out.

-Large batches are economical.

-When I had questions years ago, they would directly contact me. Now I think they have customer representatives who work with customers, instead of the Paul's

It might not mean anything, but I'd trust them with the steels that Buck uses. ....I think Larin worked with Buck for MC, so that Should be good. People seem happy.

I sent the Pops sheet with my Procut batch. I hope that wasn't insulting....idk?

How do you like the Goathead knife? Is it in Magnacut?
EVERYONE should get one, it’s just that nice and yes it’s in Magnacut. Scales are antique paper micarta, and just fits my hand perfectly.
The blade is ground down to a thin behind the edge thickness so it cuts great.
Tell him G2 sent you 😇

I have been eyeing this brand, I noticed they have a updated version coming out soon with the older iterations on sale. There is a Desert Ironwood and Red Richlite model that looks fantastic!

I was tempted by the desert ironwood ones he had, especially the one that he had gunstock checkering on it.
