I've been wanting to drop in here for the past few days and see if anyone scored a Dave Canterbury "Garberg Grand".

I found out about the first drop/pre-order around two days prior and wrestled with trying my best "Desktop Doc Holliday". In the end, I decided against it. My wallet has its eyes on a couple of other things at the moment. Anyhow, it looks like all three pre-orders have come and gone.


If you got one, I'd love to see a nice pic of it and the sheath when you receive it.

I’ve shown this before, my Mohr knife in hollow ground 3/16 1095, just really like the heft to it, while not being clumsy but a good fit in the hand. My wife bought this for me a few years ago when we attended a craft show out in San Antonio, TX.

Another one I dragged out of my box, a Grohmann #2 bird and trout flat grind in carbon, slight patina forming.and I though it was nice next to a place mat of an English cottage.

Now, my only true Fiddelback knife, not including production versions, it is a Bear Cub, I think a2, and wood and micarta bolster. It has taken me awhile to appreciate this size blade. But I like the blade shape, similar to the Kephart shape.

Is the tang thinner on the bottom than it is on the top?

I haven't seen that on a custom knife before

With showing some of my more less seen and played with knives, j cam across my Buck 102, I always thought the handle was too short, but just playing with it, I am surprised how much I like the thin blade and light weight.

Really nice, sheath looks great too.

On a side note, I still wonder how makers (including Spyderco) DLC Magnacut. Must be one of the best kept secrets.

Today’s carry is this great little Hellbender from Ben Krein with Nichols damascus and some very nice stag handles. The Kankuri provides a nice sense of scale.
