Always awestruck with your knives......Beautiful work...

When I got to fort bliss, I got a crkt sting, was my first boot knife. Beautiful collectionOne of the tangents I've gone on with fixed blades. Left to right 1977 Sting 1, 1a, 2 and a Cia letter opener. Two more recent model 3s, CRKT Sting and a modern 3b.
They definitely had a nice polish in the 70s. Too many handle variations for me to keep hunting these. The only one I look for currently is the 1a in black chrome. Jerry Ahern may have caused this addiction!

Didn't know they sold the CRKT version at the PX. Would have been a couple years after I retired. Ok knife, but the CRKT sheath made me very sad! ThanksWhen I got to fort bliss, I got a crkt sting, was my first boot knife. Beautiful collection
I had to get this one off the secondary market as I needed it to fill the void. Crazy how the prices have gotten.I still have my C.I.A. letter opener!![]()
Didn't come from the px, bought it online and chased the ups? truck down on post. Our px did carry knives but nothing great, though I got a cold steel recon with ultra lock from there which I did think was the bees knees at the time.Didn't know they sold the CRKT version at the PX. Steel is 26C3 high carbon steel with a "working hamon."

It comes with a right hand pancake sheath, (for right hand crossdraw above the left front pocket or behind the left hip). The sheath has been hand tooled with a Carlos Border stamp and fitted to this specific knife for excellent retention.
