Beautiful knife and sheath
silly Question, does the belt go on the top of the sheath and block the nice design or behind the sheath to let it show? I assume it would work either way.

Yes the belt goes under the sheath. I do have a design The Slotted sheath, that goes under the belt but I don't tool that one. Here's a Slotted sheath:

I have seen folks wearing a pancake under the belt but not very often. Around here its always with the belt under the sheath:
