Fixed blades

luethge. What model is the J.J. Smith in post 1,182? I looked at his web site but could not find a similar knife. Thanks. John

There are some beautiful if not downright gorgeous fixed blades in this thread; but for use and abuse, there's not much I would hesitate at all to do with a Becker BK2.
For me, with both fixed and folders, (and watches), there's something to be said about the IDCAI (I Don't Care About It) factor.

Just a good old 5160 camp knife. That guy makes some incredible users. That thing out curls any Scandi I’ve tried 👍

I’m not sure Mr Smith had a name for that one.

The knife that led me to bladeforums, I still have it. It's beat beyond recognition now, I took a hammer to it to help break up thick ice on my roof and mushroomed the spine. Then I took it to my belt grinder and removed the mushroomed steel. Camped, skinned animals, split wood, and was abused for years. Mine has been retired for many years now, but it sure takes a beating.
