Fixed Blades

Blondie,

I would suggest that you Call Bud Nealy. If you are looking for a medium size knife, in the 5" range. He can put neopreme handle scales on any of his models. I carried a 5" tanto in Damascus for several years so made. A lot of the other styles are very good they just have a more bulky grip shape. I would stay away from all metal knives that do not have a good guard shape. Not knowing your knowledge or style of self defense technique I cannot give a more exact answer. There are NO good factory sheath systems out there. They all suffer from the "save a penny syndrome" that all knife companies have. The Stiff Kiss is a good example. The knife is very low profile and the sheath is a good design for the money. It is over three times more bulky than the knife it is used to carry. The Stiff Kiss design is taken from a custom knife that was originally designed with sheath to fit in the tag loop of a dress tie. Just a couple of my observations.

Good Hunting,

I have to throw another plug for Cold Steel in here. Terrible advertising techniques but great products. If you are looking for something tough and inexpensive they offer a great selection.
There are alot of options to choose and of course price, size, availability and carry accessories play a big part in it.

Good luck in your search and let us know how it turns out.
