Here's what that mod looks like, the belt loop swivels on that copper rivet, allowing you easier sitting, less jamming the knife into a chair or car.
Notice the small hole in the leather, worn through from putting the knife in and out so many times, but, it doesn't affect the retention and I do not see a good fix for it, so, it's just there

The hole in the leather is tight on the rivet, otherwise as you peen the end, it could make the rivet bend,

I put the peening end of the hammer over the hole and take my leather mallet to hammer that down into the leather, it leaves a dished shape to the leather and allows the head of the rivet to sit flush with the leather.

The initial belt loop I glued together to make it a solid piece, as I also did the new belt loop where the rivet goes through is glued as well.

And that is something I learned a long time ago from Rob Hudson while at an Ashokan Seminar many many years ago !!!
