Anyone do business with Flames -n- Knives?
I paid for a Spyderco Temperance Knife FB05P on May-10-05 and have heard nothing from them since.
TIA

I have had good luck buying from them. It did take awhile to get my Spyker recently because they were backordered.

Have you tried sending them an email? I received the knife a couple of days after emailing them.

I believe that I have purchased 5 knives from them and I have not really had any problems.

Last thing I bought from them was a knife I was giveing as a gift.Paided on Sunday with Pay Pal and asked that they ship it priority mail as I was leaveing the next Friday and the knife was for the person I was going to see.Well they shipped it Wenesday first class mail ( 7.95 for shipping ) I got it after I returned from the trip.

I bought 3 knives via internet (i live in europe) ,payed via moneytransfer.
Then : Nothing ! for about 3 weeks i had to wait for some reply .. they said i didnt send them the correkt amount coz their bank charged more then they had expected and i should send up more money ... after all it took about 3 month to get the knives .. never again and thanx a lot for the "nice" emails

Have purchased 3 knives from them via ebay, have not had a problem at all. Fast shipping from the USA to Australia - received goods about 7 days from placement of order till arrival.

I've bought 3 or 4 knives from them with no trouble. In fact, I returned one for some small scratches on the blade (looked like the grinder got away from someone in Golden), and he hand-picked another for me, sent it Priority, and included a refund for my return shipping costs (I hadn't asked for it.).

In the last 2 months I have purchased 2 knives from "Flames N KNives". On both occasions I paid an extra $2.60 for insurance on the packages. They both came on time but neither one of them had been insured. I don't think it is right at all to charge for insurance when the package does not get insured. That was the only thing wrong I can find with Flames N Knives. I have not made any additional purchases from them since because of that.

No hidden fees, shipping was much more than fair, anything they list on eBay they have (as most of you probably well know, not everything listed on eBay is in the clutches of the sellers at the time). I've ordered more than several knives from them, and each one was received by me very quickly. The only problem I had was when I cancelled my Paypal account, and had to pay with a money order, that took about two weeks to get to me, after they received the money order. FWIW, no problems.

I give them an A+!

Funny you should ask. I just made my first purchase with them today. I got three out of four knives I paid for. I am waiting on a return Email :grumpy:

Bought 5 or 6 from them including a Spyker and blue Walker and never had any problems. Returned a knife once out of Spyderstupidity but received it again without any problems too. Every email I have send them was answered within reasonable time limits as well. I have no doubt that they make mistakes once in a while but I have found them reliable.

Yes, no problem with them too.
I bought several knives from them and I received them quickly (8 days to France) each time.

I don't know the specifics of your case, but some places "self-insure". They charge the going P.O. rate but instead of paying for insurance through the P.O., they take the hit if something gets damaged or lost. So your package is still covered, but instead of the P.O. getting the money the seller's getting it (along with the risk).

I finally got a reply from Julie: "We received your order..thank you we are still processing it. You will receive notification from stamps.com with tracking and the date it ships. Again, .thank you for your purchase."
This was 10 days after I paid for the ebay auction. They obviously didn't have the Temperance Knife FB05P in stock when they sold it to me.....and they still don't.
Don't think I'll do business with them again.

I had a similar experience when I bought my Persian. They tried every dirty trick to get more time to backorder the knife...
I think you can find sellers with better service anytime.
